Banter Procession.

So, this is the reason that we are all here. Jan and Dave had a cosy family wedding in February, but as they are Canal Forum members they wanted to share their happiness with their fellow boaters. Saturday afternoon started with a procession along the towpath past the webcam mounted by Matti on the top of his boat ‘Old Friends’ .

‘ Headjog’ arrived in a dinghy in style and alighted daintily on the towpath, a lovely vision in yellow, even down to the ‘marigolds’!

    

    

There were some very fine hats on display and boating dogs Cara and Millie joined in the throng.

We admired this clever ‘Skeleton’ hoody…as the skull is complete when the zip is done up!

   

Quite a few wore skirts, but it was rather too cold for me to do so. During the afternoon a lady was kept very busy creating caricatures of many partygoers. Maybe we will put ours on the blog for you later.

Some people were fascinating, and the ‘worst man’ gave a rousing speech and proposed the toast to the happy couple.

There were about fifteen boats here and around eighty people at the banter. We wonder if this is a record ? Again the partying lasted long into the night and a good time was had by all. We would like to thank Dave and Jan for making us all so welcome.
